I propose that the Declaration of Independence be written into Constitutional Law. If there were changes that I might suggest to improve the document, allow me to present them here.
1.) All men and women are created equal.
Therefore, everyone is equal, and any right given to -- or rule taken from -- the people, must apply to every person equally. That includes private citizens, individuals WITHIN corporations, politicians, generals, the elite, the police, judges, Black folks, White folks, et al. If only self-defense can justify homicide, the same must be true of politicians who attempt to commit war without a clear justification for national-defense.
2.) All women and men are endowed with cetain, unalienable rights: Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Therefore, no one may be denied their right to life, or the restraint of their breath. Secondly, no one may be imprisoned or enslaved. And thirdly, anything that makes a person happy, and they don't harm, monetarily theive or overwhelmingly distress anyone in so doing, they're allowed to do just as they wish. Public drug use, sex and nudity must be taken as misdemeanor offenses, since they aren't NECESSARY for the person to gain enjoyment, if they have a house where they can go to perform their civil duty of being happy. Homeless people, do not have that luxury, so they must be given amnesty, and assistance in stopping the behavior.
3.) The government derives its power from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
So, every year, there will be held a vote, like a customer satisfaction survey on steroids -- to determine the government's efficacy and right to exist. Jefferson goes on to list the redresses that would be necessary in maintaining support from the populace. I would like for these and as many more as might be deemed at all important, to be taken into consideration for such a vote.

Forgive the loose language. This is a sort of draft of the larger idea necessary to codify the Declaration into our Constitution. But this will have to do for now. However, any who are obstinate to the idea, simply for keeping the Declaration out of codified law, they may move to the U.K., Canada, or any other state that respects the principles of Monarchy and Imperialism. The people that signed that document died for their beliefs, and the obtuse want to reject the burden of more freedom for everyone. While you're there, realize that what you experience is what you make others experience, through your self-righteous outrage and phantom morality.
