Free Market Capitalism: the most moral social system known to mankind. The essence of FMC was implicit in The United States of America's founding document, the Declaration of Independence, and has been elaborated upon by the creator of Objectivism, Ayn Rand, including other Objectivists (Leonard Peikoff) and those within the "Liberty Movement" at large. Specific applications are subject to debate but the essence and purpose of FMC is as follows:

1. The protection of individuals and their property from physical force and fraud. Force includes the threat of force.

2. A national military exists for the protection of it's citizens from outside invaders and to retaliate when force is initiated upon us. This also includes active local police and national guard forces throughout the states. In a right's respecting society the govt. and law enforcement have a monopoly on the use of force but only in retaliation to force that has been proven through objective, legal means.

3. Federal and State court systems exist to carry out justice and punishment by objective rule of law (beyond a reasonable doubt). This includes all prisons and correctional institutions.

These functions of govt; the courts, prisons, and police/military are to be funded voluntarily. This is where specific applications may differ. Some support having a national lottery, etc. In FMC, all property is privately owned, and the govt. is external to markets, business, banks, loans, science, education, health, food, etc. just as originally intended with church/religion. Matters of force, (physical, theft, etc.) and fraud (such as libel and copyright) are settled by local law enforcement and through state and federal court systems in ascending order. In a right's respecting society, the initiation of force by any individual is strictly forbidden and only force used (proportionally) in retaliation is allowable under the rule of law.
